After 30 years, pink lotuses bloom again at this iconic lake in Kashmir

For a long time, this specific sight existed only in people’s memories. Older locals would often talk about massive sheets of pink lotus flowers blanketing Wular Lake, arguably one of Kashmir’s most stunning natural displays. But the catastrophic floods of 1992 changed everything. Thick silt covered the lakebed, and the iconic lotus beds completely vanished.
